Overview

DocSize is a Google Docs™ add-on that helps you set custom page dimensions, margins, and background colors. This privacy policy explains how we handle your data when you use our add-on.

Data Collection

DocSize does NOT collect, store, or transmit any personal data or Google user data. The add-on:

  • Runs entirely within your Google Docs™ environment
  • Only accesses the current document you're working on
  • Does not send any data to external servers
  • Does not track your usage or behavior
  • Does not collect your email address, name, or any identifying information
  • Does not read or store the content of your documents

Google User Data

DocSize accesses your Google Docs™ solely to perform its core functionality: modifying page dimensions, margins, and background colors. We access only the document formatting properties necessary to apply your requested changes.

What we access:

  • Current page width and height
  • Current margin settings (top, bottom, left, right)
  • Current background color

What we do NOT access:

  • Document text content
  • Images or embedded objects
  • Comments or suggestions
  • Revision history
  • Other documents in your Google Drive

Data Sharing, Transfer, and Disclosure

DocSize does NOT share, transfer, sell, or disclose any Google user data to any third parties. Since we do not collect or store any user data, there is no data to share.

Specifically:

  • We do not share data with advertisers
  • We do not share data with analytics providers
  • We do not share data with data brokers
  • We do not transfer data to any external servers or services
  • We do not disclose data to any third parties for any purpose

Data Protection

DocSize is designed with a privacy-first architecture:

  • No external servers: All processing occurs entirely within Google's secure infrastructure. DocSize does not operate any external servers that receive or process your data.
  • No data transmission: Your document data never leaves Google's environment. The add-on executes within Google Apps Script, which runs on Google's servers.
  • Minimal permissions: We request only the minimum permissions necessary to provide our functionality.
  • No persistent storage: DocSize does not use any databases, cookies, local storage, or other mechanisms to store your information.

Because no user data is collected or stored outside of Google's infrastructure, your data benefits from Google's enterprise-grade security measures.

Data Retention and Deletion

DocSize does not retain any Google user data. Since we do not collect or store any data:

  • Retention period: Not applicable — no data is retained
  • Automatic deletion: Not applicable — no data is stored to delete
  • User-requested deletion: There is no data to delete. Any changes made to your document (page size, margins, background color) are stored by Google as part of your document and can be modified or reverted by you at any time using Google Docs™' built-in features or by using DocSize again.

When you uninstall DocSize, no residual data remains because no data was ever collected or stored by our add-on.

Google API Services Usage

DocSize's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

DocSize requires the following Google permissions to function:

  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/documents — To read current page settings and apply your requested changes to page dimensions, margins, and background color
  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/script.container.ui — To display the sidebar interface within Google Docs™

These permissions are used solely to provide the add-on's core functionality and for no other purpose.

Third-Party Services

DocSize does not use any third-party services that access your data. We do not use:

  • Analytics services
  • Advertising networks
  • Tracking pixels or beacons
  • External APIs or services

Children's Privacy

DocSize does not knowingly collect information from children under 13 years of age. Since we do not collect any personal information from any users, this applies to users of all ages.

Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding DocSize:

  • Right to access: Since we collect no data, there is no personal data to access.
  • Right to deletion: Since we store no data, there is no data to delete. Document changes you made using DocSize can be modified directly in Google Docs™.
  • Right to uninstall: You can uninstall DocSize at any time through Google Docs™ (Extensions > Add-ons > Manage add-ons). No data is retained after uninstallation.
  • Right to revoke access: You can revoke DocSize's access to your Google account at any time through your Google Account permissions settings.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
